11.00
The climb
The track runs three kilometres up through the vines. Whoever arrives early helps lay the tables.
Cima Corgo · Douro Valley
The house, the cellar and fourteen hectares of terraces, exclusively. One wedding at a time, never two.
The estate
Lomba fria means cold ridge, and it earns the name: the sun arrives later and leaves later, and in June there is still light on the terrace at half past nine. It is why the family planted here, and it is why photographers like the house.
The day
11.00
The track runs three kilometres up through the vines. Whoever arrives early helps lay the tables.
13.00
Lunch in the shade of the colonnade. Nobody is dressed for anything yet.
16.30
The ceremony is under the plane trees, or inside if it rains. It rains three times a year.
19.30
The valley turns orange for twenty minutes. This is when everyone disappears to take photographs.
21.30
Dinner between the casks, twelve degrees cooler than outside. The music stops when you say so.
The spaces
Drag sideways, or keep scrolling.
120 seated
Above the terraces, facing the river. Canopy if you need one.
60 seated
Glass and iron, 1911. This is where dinner goes when the weather says so.
200 standing
For the ceremony, and for the drinks that follow it.
Passage
Camellias both sides, planted in 1890. It comes out at the courtyard.
Staying
Seventeen rooms between the house and the keeper's cottage, sleeping thirty-four.
The estate is yours from three on the Friday until eleven on the Sunday.
