What is happening at the studio.

Short, occasional updates: a new teacher, a schedule change, the odd workshop. No newsletter to sign up to; just check back.

A fourth teacher joins from September

Jess Okafor is joining to teach mat pilates and cover reformer classes, which means two more slots a week from September.

We have taught the current timetable with three people for two years, and it shows on the waiting lists for the early slots. Jess trained at the same studio as Nadia and has been covering for us for six months already, so this is less a new face than a fourth name on a rota that needed one.

The extra capacity lands as two new Monday slots, a 12:15 mat class and a 19:15 reformer class, both bookable from the timetable already.

Two more reformers, so Friday stops selling out by Tuesday

We have added two reformers to the 19:15 Friday class, taking it from twelve spaces to sixteen.

Friday evening has been the first class to fill every week since January, usually within a day of the week opening. Twelve reformers was the room's original count; sixteen is what fits without anyone brushing elbows, and it is what the room will carry from now on.

Every other class keeps its existing capacity: this was one slot, not a studio-wide change.

Priya put this together after teaching the same four stretches to half the studio ahead of last year's race. It is not a regular class and will not repeat unless enough people ask: ninety minutes, twelve spaces, booked the same way as anything else on the timetable.

No experience with reformer or mat work needed: the whole point is that it is aimed at runners who have never been to a pilates class before.

This was always the policy, cancel any time, no notice period, but it lived behind an email address, which meant a day's wait for a reply that only ever said yes. It is now a button on the account page that takes effect immediately.

Nothing about the policy changed. The only difference is not having to ask.

Bring a friend, twice a month, on Unlimited

The Unlimited plan's "bring a friend" allowance is doubling from once a month to twice, at no extra cost.

The old allowance undersold what the room can actually take on a quiet class: most weeks there is space for a guest more often than once. Existing Unlimited members get this automatically; nothing to change on your account.
